Private Midwives Drive Health Education and Referrals (July – September 2024)

Between July and September 2024, the LHSS project supported 175 private midwives across Kabul, Herat, and Nangarhar, conducting 1,299 detailing sessions and providing health education to 10,963 individuals. Midwives referred 605 clients to nearby health facilities for services such as deliveries, ultrasounds, and vaccinations. Expansion plans are underway to extend the midwives’ network to Balkh and Kandahar, further enhancing community-based healthcare delivery.
